Italians do it better! Something Madonna certainly knew in the 80s; but which Italian city does it best – that is the question!
Well the accolade goes to Bologna, which has recently been named by Durex as the Shangri-La of lust and pleasure! As well as being the home of tortellini of course! The condom manufacturer commissioned research of 15 Italian cities to find out who is having the most fun and the most sex and this is what they discovered:
The Bolognese are in first place in the use of condoms , lubricants and sex toys spending 250,000 a month on sex and pleasure related products. The findings suggest that while the Bolognese certainly enjoy living free and uninhibited they are also very safety conscious. So kudos to the beautiful women of the city and their famously ‘gifted’ and fiery men for their healthy approach to their sexuality.
In second and third place came Florence and Verona, respectively, two more cities that have historically been famous for their libertine approach to living and their lively nightlife. So it’s not surprising to find that these regions have also seen an increase in the use of social networks and apps aimed specifically at casual sexual encounters.
Finally, the research showed a significant increase compared to previous years in the sale of sex toys; an indication that the sexual habits of the Italians are indeed evolving. The dildo is no longer seen as the ‘spare part’ or something that you can do without in bed, but rather a useful tool which can heighten the pleasure for both partners.
