Dealing with moderators- Part 2

Published 27/08/2014

Welcome to part 2 of our discussion regarding guidelines for moderators.

In the first part we talked about how you can become a better moderator. A good moderator is there to make sure that people are not being overly rude to the performer, or those pesky robots aren’t spamming their porn website addresses or prevent other performers from stealing users, basically help the performer keep the attention on him or her by removing elements that would otherwise cause a distraction.

• Part of the appeal of Cam4, is that it allows viewers to get to know the performers, and sometimes build a connection with them. I have made some very good friends on Cam4 and have had EPIC conversations. Of course it’s very difficult to maintain a conversation with the performer, if the person moderating the room is barking out rules and threats of banning and kicking, like a grumpy old prison guard, ready to pounce on the next person who dares to ask the performer something without tipping.
All the attention should be on the performer, not you. Try to speak as little as possible and let the performer get to know their fans. Only Ban users who are being considerably rude or robots spamming, otherwise just silence them. Remember, you want as many users in the room as possible.

• Don’t take things personally!!! It’s JUST a chat room people!!! If you don’t like what someone is saying just silence them, don’t start fighting and exchanging words with them in the performers room that’s just silly, and you can also upset some potential tippers.

So that closes up our moderator tips for the day. If you find these tips useful please feel free to leave a comment. I also am very open to any recommendations for future blogs, so please feel free to speak your mind, see you out there.

Sinfully yours, your favorite dirty little secret cam4 model
