Introducing Cam4 Gifting

We are excited to announce Cam4 Gifts – a fun new way for performers to earn tokens and interact with Cam4 members!

Cam4 Gifts are virtual presents that can be purchased by members and sent to performers as a more fun and personal alternative to tipping. Each gift has an attached token value that is added into your token balance when you receive a gift – receiving a cute Message in a Bottle is the same as receiving a 100 token tip, for example.

Members can send gifts while watching your broadcasts, or directly from your profile page – where all of your received gifts are displayed for 30 days.

Your gifts are displayed, along with a tag showing who sent them and the date they were sent, in a virtual display case in a new section of your profile page, “My Gifts”. Here, members can view all of your gifts – to see the gifts they have sent you be displayed, or to see how big of a gift they will need to send you to stand out!

Members can choose gifts that suit their favorite performers from the wide selection available in the Cam4 Gift Marketplace, making tipping feel more personal and intimate.

Remember, members are motivated to send gifts to stand out among your viewers, encourage your viewers to gift by acknowledging your gift givers!

FAQ

What happens when I receive a gift?
Gifts are sent along with a personal message and a token value, which will be added to your token balance. The gift will be displayed, along with the name of the sender and the date sent, on your profile page.

Where are gifts displayed on my profile page?
Gifts are displayed in a virtual display case in a new section of your profile, “My Gifts”. Members can view your gifts and send you new gifts from this section.

How long will gifts I receive be displayed on my profile page?
Gifts are displayed for 30 days.

Will receiving gifts from viewers result in receiving fewer tokens?
No! Each gift has a token value that you earn when you receive the gift, making gifting a fun alternative to sending tokens.

    Apologies for the delay on fixing this issue. We’re aware of the technical issue and we certainly are not ignoring emails. As soon as it’s fixed, gifts will be properly distributed. Please send all further customer service inquiries involving gifting to support@cam4.biz.

    Hi Guys

    Here’s another update. I have now sent them over 8 emails with regards to these VIRTUAL GITS I have purchased 4×5 tokens = 20 tokens and they still are not showing.

    As per Jacobs post, he has advised that, you contact support. Well can I say they don’t deal with your complaint with regards to refunding my tokens. This is an absolute DISGRACE, all I keep getting a return email to say that this is being resolved by their TECH DEPT.

    I have now sent another response, advising them to fully refund me my 20 tokens and if they cant do that, then get a SUPERVISOR OR MANAGER to do so.

    THIS IS A COMPLETE AND UTTER DISGRACE JACOB, AND I HOPE YOU READ THIS COMMENT AND GET SOMETHING DONE ABOUT IT. I WILL NOT BE BUYING AN MORE TOKENS AND I SUGGEST EVERYONE THAT READS THIS ALSO DO THE SAME.

    If I don’t get my 20 tokens back. I WILL CONTACT MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY, AND MAKE A CLAIM AGAINST CAM4 FOR A FULL REFUND OF THE TOKENS PURCHASED.

    I will never again, and I mean never again, will I ever purchase tokens from Cam4. It’s a complete and utter SCAM.

        Hi Jacob

        I’m glad someone is actually taken the time to read my comments and the POST that was blocked. I’m also grateful that you will be also handing it to those in charge.

        As you can image Jacob, my emails seem to be landing on DEAF EARS. I’m also hoping you can understand my pure frustration at the fact I just keep getting the same response back from SUPPORT and no one seems to be refunding me the token value back.

        If they just refunded me the 20 tokens back to my account, I would then be able to buy the VIRTUAL GIFTS again for the people that has not received them on their profiles. Instead Jacob they just keep making me angry at their responses to my emails.

        Anyway Jacob, I hope that when you do pass my email to them, at least now I might get my tokens back, and then I can buy the VIRTUAL KISSES for the people that did not get them in the first place. That’s all I want.

          Jacob, just as I expected, another day and a half gone by and still not contact from cam4 support. THEY ARE JUST NOT INTERESTED. Well if I dont get any contact from them by tomorrow 02.12.2012 by 13.00hrs GMT, I will be contacting my credit card company and pass my evidence and screen shots to them and making a claim for a full refund of my money.

          So here’s hoping they contact me by that time, or I’m not interested in contacting them again and waste my time even more. I won’t be spending anymore money on Cam4. I suggest the rest of the people that has commented also do the same.

    The gift I sent yesterday worked perfectly but the gift I sent earlier in the week is still not showing on the performer’s profile page.
    Why not deposit the tokens in our account for the gifts that didn’t get sent so we can resend them.

    I’m sorry but this is really not good enough. I sent a gift on Monday. It is now Friday and its still not on the profile. They only stay there for 30 days so to now be told there are no more fixes planned until next week is disgraceful. People payed for a product and they should get it. I took Jacab’s advice and emailed in but again I was told the techs are working on it. I suggest everyone demands a refund. The gifts that didn’t get sent are obviously not going to appear.

      I agree!!! I sent a few items the very first day this launched and they still aren’t on the profile. Its been a whole week. I understand there have been problems and i love cam4 but to say that after a week it might be another week before they is taking things too far. Surely the fault can’t be that hard to fix? I emailed cam4 several times and its always the same response.

      I let the technical department know about the error, but I don’t believe we have any scheduled fixes for the rest of this week. Let support@cam4.biz know so they can handle your case individually, and I’ll update the blog when we have more news about it. Thanks for letting me know though!

    I have had another response from Cam4 Tech, to say yet again they are aware of the problem and have responded saying this should be fixed by tomorrow, they said that 2 days ago and still no fix. LMAO

    I think it might have something to do with your token balance. After I sent a 5 token kiss it said I didn’t have enough to send this item, yet I clearly did as I had a balance of 50 and the tokens got taken from my account anyway. Maybe those who are managing to send gifts ok have a higher balance or something. All I know is my tokens have gone and no gifts have been displayed. I think Cam4 should cancel this send a gift option until they figure out why its not working properly for everyone.

    Well Leanne my thoughts exactly, but I’m almost sure its only gold members that can buy them. However I will have to wait on Cam4 tech dept getting back to me on the matter.

    Ohh and if it is just GOLD members, then they should have said it from the start, as I would not have purchase my tokens either.

      well i’m a Gold member and I had the same problem.. so your theory is probably wrong. However I will post my update on the response from cam4 support see below:

      We see the above purchases, the issue is the images are not popping up on the profiles for some reason. We have written to the Tech’s and ask that they find what is blocking the image and they are looking into it. We will get the gift taken care of for you. I do apologize for the delay.

      Thanks for being active here on the blog comments. The feature is open to both Basic and Gold memberships, but we just had some unforeseen kinks along the way. We’re getting through them as quick as we can!

    So if its only gold members who can send gifts why didn’t they say this at the start?? I’m not a Gold member and would never have purchased the tokens to send the gifts in the first place had I known they wouldn’t be sent. Really not happy.

    I have another update to the VIRTUAL GIFTS :-)

    This was an email I have sent Cam4 Tech Dept.

    I may have the answer for you with regards to the VIRTUAL GIFTS. I have seen a few accounts with the VIRTUAL KISS, these VIRTUAL GIFTS (KISS) was purchased by GOLD MEMBERS, so it seems to be working for GOLD MEMBERS but not for BASIC MEMBERS. If this is the case then please fix it so that BASIC MEMBERS can send them. If it is only GOLD MEMBERS that can send them, then put a forum up to tell BASIC MEMBERS they cant use the system, and this should have been made clear from the start.

    So as per above, I know its just GOLD MEMBERS that can purchase them, so I’m awaiting on a reply from Cam4 Tech Dept.

    I’m so pleased others are having the same problem. It seems some of the gifts are managing to get posted though. So why aren’t the rest? I have sent out four gifts to my friends and still they haven’t appeared on their profiles but the purcase has gone through on my account log.

    WOW GUYS, and update for you on the VIRTUAL GIFTS and as per my previous POST below. WOW I have had a reply from them and it has just taken them 15 minutes to reply, and that was using the option HELP in the middle of the CONTACT & CAM4BUCKS options LMAO.

    So lesson learnt that the CONTACT option is not working :-) heres there reply to me as follows:

    We see the purchases, the issue is the images are not popping up on the profiles for some reason. We have written to the Tech’s and ask that they find what is blocking the image and they are looking into it. We will get the gift taken care of for you. I do apologize for the delay they will get them up sometime tomorrow.

    So hope this answers all your questions, but remember to use the HELP option to contact CAM4 from now on in xxxxxx. :-)

    OMG GUYS, I have was sending my emails to them via the link saying CONTACT I have been using that to send emails, guess what that does not seem to work.

    I have now went into HELP & there’s an option in there to send SUBMIT A TICKET at the top left corner, and now it has sent email as it has gave me a ticket number. When I was using the CONTACT option and submitted, then it gave me nothing, could they not have advised that the CONTACT option was not working, typical CAM4.

    So try and send email to them that way by clicking on the HELP option in the middle of the CONTACT & CAM4BUCKS & and the top left corner click on SUBMIT A TICKET :p

    I have tried to send gifts now to 3 seperate users and each time I do it says I don’t have enough credit/tokens to buy the gift (despite the fact I do)?? and the tokens are taken anyway. For example. I had 50 tokens. now I only have 35 yet the three 5 token kisses I sent have no been delivered. Whats going on here??

    This is really not working. I have seen loads of people complain about tokens being taken from their accounts but no gifts have been sent. Like the above user someone said that after the tokens had been taken they got a message to say they didn’t have enough tokens to buy the gift in question… Yet the tokens are still being taken.

    I also sent a gift to a member, the tokens were removed from my account and the gift wasn’t sent. Infact it even said I didn’t have enough tokens to buy the gift when I did!! I thought it might have been because the user was offline?? i hope they fix it soon.

    ya this idea sucks if the gifts aren’t getting sent. I too like brilliant_1 and prokennex sent 2 gifts and the performer did not receive gift…. yet tokens were taken away from my account! Will send mail to cam4 support in hopes they can do something in regards to the matter.

    Not so good idea, I have now purchased 2 VIRTUAL GIFTS and each performer has not got them, and the tokens have been taken from my balance. I have sent email to Cam4 with regards to this and heard nothing back. :-(
