Whether you like it or not the world is on twitter\u2026and so are your new fans. I am going to share with you my favorite quote because like you, I was a model looking for new fans and I was not using social media to its fullest.<\/p>\n
The Basics<\/strong><\/p>\n Twitter is a platform where you can speak or \u201ctweet\u201d to anyone else who is on twitter. These are the fundamentals of the twitterverse\u2026<\/p>\n Tweet <\/strong>\u2013 A message you send to your followers, it will show up in their home feed.<\/p>\n Re-Tweet <\/strong>\u2013 A tweet by another user you repost so that will be seen by all of your followers as well. Having people re-tweet your tweets is the fastest way to get followers.<\/p>\n Follow<\/strong> \u2013 to follow people you visit their profile and click the \u2018follow\u2019 button, then you will see their tweets and re-tweets in your twitter home feed.<\/p>\n Followers<\/strong> \u2013 this is the same as people you have followed, they see your tweets and re-tweets in their home feed.<\/p>\n @<\/strong> \u2013 Signifies a persons username or \u2018handle\u2019 on twitter. If you want to tweet to someone you would include his or her twitter handle in your tweet, then it will show up in their notifications tab.<\/p>\n # <\/strong>\u2013 \u2018hashtag\u2019 is a search tool, when you put this in front of a word it will pull up your tweet when that \u2018hashtag\u2019 is searched by other users. You can simply click on a # word in a tweet to pull up all tweets with that #.<\/p>\n DM <\/strong>\u2013 is a \u2018Direct message\u2019 to another user. These messages are private and can only be seen by the person you send it too; you both have to be following each other to be able to send a \u2018DM\u2019.<\/p>\n How to build your following <\/strong><\/p>\n The more followers the better but it isn\u2019t as easy as you think to get attention on twitter.
