{"id":11305,"date":"2018-02-25T10:00:44","date_gmt":"2018-02-25T10:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gay.blogs.cam4.com\/?p=11305"},"modified":"2018-02-23T20:15:51","modified_gmt":"2018-02-23T20:15:51","slug":"gay-fashion-campaign-receives-backlash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cam4.com\/blog-gay\/2018\/02\/gay-fashion-campaign-receives-backlash\/","title":{"rendered":"Gay Fashion Campaign Receives Backlash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Dutch\u00a0clothing company, Suitsupply, has received homophobic backlash after unveiling their new Spring\/Summer 2018 campaign, which showed male models kissing, touching, and posing intimately wearing the brand&#8217;s apparel.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;Find your Perfect Fit&#8221; campaign has been seen in stores around the world, and while the ads display a positive message about human sexuality and gay rights, the brand has received numerous complaints and backlash from homophobes on Twitter and Facebook, saying the brand had a hidden &#8220;gay agenda.&#8221; The brand also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.attitude.co.uk\/article\/17177\/mens-clothing-brand-faces-fierce-backlash-after-unveiling-gay-inclusive-fashion-campaign\/\" target=\"_blank\">lost 12,000 followers <\/a>on Instagram.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">New Spring Summer 2018 | Find Your Perfect Fit <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/zcjzmV5Rtt\">pic.twitter.com\/zcjzmV5Rtt<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; SUITSUPPLY (@suitsupply) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/suitsupply\/status\/966282530088513536?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 21, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, Fokke de Jong, the CEO of Suitsupply, came to the rescue and explained that while the controversial campaign has recieved some backlash, the company has also seen a positive impact from fans and other fashion brands.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s amazing what one kiss can do,&#8221; he\u00a0told <a href=\"http:\/\/uk.businessinsider.com\/suitsupply-ad-gay-men-backlash-2018-2?r=US&amp;IR=T\" target=\"_blank\">Business Insider.<\/a>\u00a0He also explained that a global campaign featuring gay imagery, such as\u00a0kissing, hugging, or any sensual poses, is &#8220;long overdue.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The message of this campaign is love, attraction and passion.
